Take a break from the hustle and bustle of the city

The project Nomad houses is a part of the ecosystem of modular houses BY HOME and is an eco-hotel located in the main tourist center of Belarus - Braslav Lakes. A complex of 6-10 small-sized houses with modern architecture and all the necessary infrastructure is designed for recreation from the bustle of the city surrounded by unspoiled nature of the national park.

The main thing is the idea

The concept of Nomad Houses was formed from the need to develop domestic tourism.

In conditions when traveling around the world is becoming more and more difficult, and there is still a demand for them, we, as architects , we see our function as opening interesting locations and creating tourism infrastructure within the country.

Braslav Lakes are the first place from which we decided to start implementing our concept, because it is a region with a unique untouched nature and a rich cultural and historical heritage. The main value of the territory is lakes of glacial origin surrounded by relict forest with an abundance of wild animals and rare plants that can only be seen here.

This place lacked only one thing - stylish modern architecture.

NOMAD HOUSES

General plan of project

To locate the complex, we specifically looked for a site in a beautiful natural environment with walking distance to the lake, proximity to city infrastructure and convenient access from the highway, since carefully thought-out infrastructure creates a positive experience for the visitor from staying in our eco-hotel.

NOMAD HOUSES

We managed to find a site that meets all these criteria. The approach to the lake with a landscaped beach is 100 meters from the complex and runs through a pine forest. Here we organized a drive from the highway with a forest parking lot.

Infrastructure

On the site we plan to place a bathhouse, a utility block for storing sports equipment and from 6 to 10 houses of two types:

  1. Camp B with a living area of 17 m2
  2. Camp C with a living area of 35 m2
  3. Camp C Flat with a living area of 35 m2
  4. Camp SPA with a total area of 55 m2

Type Camp B

Compact holiday house for 1-2 people. The main and only residential module includes a recreation area, a kitchen, a bathroom and an electric sauna. Both the external and internal appearance of the house serves as an example of pure Scandinavian minimalism and serves as a backdrop for the main emphasis - the untouched protected nature of the Braslav Nature Reserve.

The main difference and at the same time advantage of a country house from a city apartment is the presence of a terrace where you can spend time outdoors and from which you can access your personal outdoor pool.

NOMAD HOUSES

Camp B Interior

Despite the fact that the area of the house is quite compact, thanks to smart planning solutions we have placed everything necessary for both short-term and longer stays. In the kitchen area we hid a built-in refrigerator and organized a place to store cutlery. The podium on which the kitchen island is located is also the basis for a huge double bed.

The space is illuminated by a lamp built into the ridge at the junction of the two roof slopes. The space is heated by two radiators mounted on the walls.

Bathroom and sauna

To the left of the entrance we placed a storage system, in the same part of the house we have a bathroom block. This is a room with heated floors and all the necessary plumbing equipment, but the main feature of both this block and the house as a whole is the presence of a sauna.

At the moment, the village is fully developed and is already actively receiving visitors. Houses of various sizes and a panoramic sauna with a wood-fired plunge pool are available for rent.

The house is slightly larger in area compared to its predecessor for relaxing 2-5 people with a spacious terrace. The main and only residential module includes a recreation area, a kitchen and a bathroom. Here, compared to the previous model, there is a designated seating area, as well as an organized dining area.

Camp C Interior

In the interior of Camp C, we used all the same techniques as in Camp B. Stylistically, it is classic Scandinavian minimalism with a predominance of natural materials. The main differences from the house of the previous model are of a planning nature. There is a larger dining area with a wood-burning stove and a separate seating area.

The bathroom area in this house is larger, but without its own sauna, however, there will be a bathhouse on the territory of the complex.

In the sleeping area we also placed a large double bed with a dressing room. Lighting is built around the perimeter of the ceiling, and we placed spotlights above the bed.

Thus, thanks to the variability of house models, guests of the eco-hotel can choose the most suitable option for themselves.

The SPA sauna includes a relaxation area, a kitchen, a bathroom and a sauna. It is made in the style of Scandinavian minimalism, which serves as the backdrop for the main emphasis - the untouched protected nature of the Braslav Nature Reserve.

Materials for construction were selected taking into account environmental safety and durability. The main materials are wood and glass, which creates a feeling of unity with nature and allows you to enjoy the views of the national park.

NOMAD HOUSES

Design code

To briefly and succinctly describe the design code of this project - it is Scandinavian minimalism with wooden facades, panoramic glazing and huge terraces. The color palette, as well as the set of finishing materials, are as laconic as possible. The finishing of the facades and terraces is made of charcoal-black wood in combination with corrugated sheets on the roof of the same shade. The Total black complex looks organic against the backdrop of dark pine forest trunks, but does not lose its expressiveness in any weather.

The interior space of the houses is based on a combination of three shades: the natural color of wood in the decoration of the walls, white in the finishing of surfaces, and anthrocite in the details. Absolute laconicism for a break from the visual and information noise of big cities with a concentration on the natural environment.

By focusing on the architectural expressiveness and effectiveness of the complex, we create the prerequisites for the formation of marketing mechanisms that are inextricably linked with the functioning of any business.

NOMAD HOUSES

Architecture and marketing

The marketing component is an inseparable part of architectural design for us. Regardless of the segment of a particular project, we always adhere to one principle: we create architecture that promotes itself. Quality that speaks for itself and an image that is memorable without unnecessary advertising.

At this stage in the Nomad Houses project, we have already managed to create an “Instagram image” that we want to share with friends and subscribers, but we plan to strengthen this effect.
