In this project, we deliberately moved away from the neutral image of a typical house, opting instead for a contrast of volumes, materials, and colors.
The main family living areas face the inner courtyard, while the spa unit is housed in a separate volume that helps define a private zone. Thanks to its composition and geometry, the house feels more compact and cozy than its actual scale would suggest.
We grouped the private rooms on the second floor into a single volume resting on monolithic stone cubes. Their massive, sculptural forms anchor the composition, while the lighter upper volume adds a sense of dynamism.
A key feature is the green glazed tile with a semi-circular profile. We used it to introduce color, texture, and a play of reflections into the otherwise austere architecture; the surface reacts differently to daylight, constantly shifting the perception of the façade.
Wood and stone establish a natural foundation, while the glazed tiles and reflective elements introduce an unexpected contrast in color and texture. The house’s character is defined precisely by this blend of restraint and expressive detail.
The project was developed for ATERA as part of the Papushevo Park complex, which combines the comfort of seclusion with a strong, distinctive architectural identity.
