UMBRA HOUSE

Architectural project

Project description

Natural minimalism in all its glory.

This house literally grew among pine trees. The clients searched for a long time for a site with just such a forest, so the main goal was to preserve as many trees as possible. Thus, the architecture was adapted to the existing pine trees, and the dark, heat-treated ash facades helped it blend into the surrounding landscape.

The house was designed for a couple, but with family gatherings in mind, when the adult children came to visit. Therefore, the first floor became a space for living together, socializing, and relaxing, while the second floor became a more intimate area of peace and privacy.

In this project, we focused not only on architectural objectives but also on the real-life scenario of a family's life. For example, they decided against an open kitchen because the owners rarely cook, and instead of the usual master suite, they created a bedroom with access to the terrace.
