Project description

The School of the Future is a project developed in collaboration with the developer A-100, where we were responsible for the design.

The concept was built on two images: "school of the future"—a space for exploration and growth—and "aviation"—the street and proximity to the airfield defined the visual language of the interiors, with aviation and space motifs.

We paid special attention to color and graphics, both decorative and informative: we created a separation between the senior and junior schools, developed navigation routes, continued the architectural design, and created a system that would engage children in school, constantly exploring new things, and gaining new knowledge.

When developing the color scheme, we devised a system based on four simple colors, using a square color scheme, and then distributed them by floor: 1st – yellow, 2nd – green, 3rd – blue, 4th – red. This basic principle was further refined by slightly mixing the specified colors in different areas of the floors. Combined with graphics, this scheme became less obvious and more harmonious.

For example, the spaces in the elementary school are reminiscent of kindergarten and facilitate a gentle adaptation: niche-like houses, wall paintings, and a variety of textures create a relaxed atmosphere. In the senior school, the basic concepts remain, but with a shift toward greater abstraction: the walls no longer feature a penguin dreaming of flight, but compositions of color spots and lines.

The school has designed 13 relaxation areas that take into account differences between students, such as their age or behavior. Each floor features science exhibits that playfully demonstrate the laws of physics – from the "lever rule" to sound wave expansion and optical illusions. To allow students to relax, we created special quiet corners. There is also a piano for those interested in music.

We selected furniture for the project to meet the technological requirements of a comprehensive school. We designed most of the furniture ourselves for custom production by a company certified to manufacture such furniture. We designed virtually all the furniture, from ottomans in the recreation areas to dining tables and chairs for different age groups.

As a result, we created a functional and aesthetically pleasing space that inspires students from the moment they enter and evokes positive emotions, which we believe is crucial for children's learning and development.
