This house has two completely different moods.
The entire interior is defined by the forest outside the windows; the woods dictate the color palette, the openness of the space, and the approach to lighting. Consequently, the ground floor is bright and serene, featuring large windows, minimal detailing, and virtually no visual clutter. The only accent is the glazed terracotta tile on the kitchen backsplash; its hue echoes the texture of pine bark, while its glossy finish catches the daylight.
The master suite is located on the level below, where the mood shifts quite radically. The space becomes dark and deep, creating a more intimate, dense atmosphere. While the large windows remain, the view beyond them is perceived differently against this backdrop—not as an extension of a bright interior, but as a distinct image, almost like a porthole.
There is a great deal of interplay between light and reflection: mirrors blur the boundaries of the space, curated lighting highlights specific details, and shadows leave parts of the interior to the imagination. At the heart of this setting lies a large bathtub, offering a view of the forest where one can literally lose all sense of time.
The result is a space designed for a simple state of being: shutting out the outside world, slowing down, and turning inward for a while.
