For this interior design in Sacramento, we built large areas around the already existing rather complex architecture and a large number of openings of different heights, which had to be somehow played up.
As a basis, we took 3 finishing materials: porcelain stoneware, wood and painting. We arranged these materials along planes, creating uniform architectural horizontals and verticals. This allowed us to make the space visually holistic.
We combined and at the same time differentiated zones using U-shaped frames in most rooms of the house. This technique visually separates the zones from each other, but does not reduce the area, maintaining a conventionally zoned open space.
Against a backdrop of very basic finishes, we added accents with designer furniture and lighting, which made the interior cozy and elegant, while maintaining a sense of sophisticated natural minimalism.
