Scandinavian harmony on the bay

The wide but uneven bank of the Volga, dense forests and love of fishing served as inspiration for the creation of a unique residential complex. The village is spread along the bay, reminiscent of Scandinavian fjords, opening a breathtaking perspective on the water surface 10 kilometers long.

Master plan of the site

Here, the strict simplicity of Scandinavian style combines with the warmth of Russian wooden architecture, creating an atmosphere of seclusion and harmony with nature. The landscape lines follow the curves of the shore, and the architecture blends into the surrounding landscape, emphasizing the grandeur of the water surface and forest expanses.

The road as a metaphor for the bay

A smooth concrete road, seamlessly blending into the landscape, symbolizes the calm waters of the bay, and its seamless surface resembles the smoothness of a body of water, between cliffs and rocks.

Concrete walls as a symbol of cliffs

The connection of the main road with the metaphor of the bay, and the concrete walls with the cliffs of the fjords, creates deep symbolism and an impressive visual image.

Lighthouse and water baths

Where the path ends and coziness begins.

The visual dominant and center of attraction in the village is always the lighthouse. The entire planning principle is based on keeping the lighthouse always in view and returning residents to the water. All activities are concentrated around it, and all roads lead to it.

The baths create a sense of complete unity with nature, the calmness of the water, and seclusion.

A tall, minimalist lighthouse will become a landmark, attracting the eye from the entrance to the village. A canopy with a view of the bay, located at the base of the lighthouse, creates a cozy space for relaxation and events.

FJORD

Recreation areas and playgrounds

A secluded place among the trees, where fresh air fills the space, and nature creates an atmosphere of tranquility. The main principle in landscaping is the preservation of nature and barrier-free environment, making any point accessible to all residents.

The playground is inspired by the atmosphere of fishing villages and life by the water. All elements are made of natural materials — wood, ropes, and stone, creating a tactile and safe environment for play.

Cozy and harmony in every home

The village is divided into three clusters, each offering two types of houses, adapted to different needs of residents.

Cluster "A" — TYPE 1 — 7 houses of 215 m²

The shape of the house resembles alternating volumes, united by a glass gallery that blurs the boundaries between the interior and exterior space. The house seems to dissolve into the surrounding landscape, offering a comfortable and harmonious living space.

Cluster "A" — TYPE 2 — 10 houses of 250 m²

The shape of the building emphasizes the play of geometry: the cantilevered volume of the second floor seems to hover over the terrace, creating shade and a cozy place for relaxation. Panoramic glazing blurs the boundaries between the interior and exterior, filling the house with natural light. The first floor is made of warm clinker brick, and the second — of ribbed metal sheet.

Cluster "B" — TYPE 1 — 15 houses of 250 m²

The architecture of the house represents a play of volumes, where the central place is occupied by a two-level composition with an expressive round window, giving the building a special character.

Cluster "B" — TYPE 2 — 14 houses of 200 m²

The house seems quite simple, but only at first glance. Its layout is based on the principle of a triangle, creating an unusual geometry of space with logical zoning. The broken roof line emphasizes the dynamics of the form and makes the architecture of the house even more expressive.

Cluster "C" — TYPE 1 — 27 houses of 170 m²

A house with laconic architecture, where clean lines and natural materials emphasize the tranquility and measured pace of country life. The simple shape of the house is divided into two key volumes: the main living space and a covered terrace that unites the interior and exterior world. Thanks to the glass walls, the boundaries between nature and architecture are blurred, allowing maximum light and views into the interior.

FJORD

Cluster "C" — TYPE 2 — 27 houses of 140 m²

Compact, yet open, the house fits organically into the surrounding landscape. The facades are made of deep terracotta clinker brick, emphasizing the warm character of the house and making it an accent element of the village. A special element — a round window, creating unique lighting scenarios in the interior.

Elements of space organization

A combination of navigational, architectural, and landscaping solutions, forming a convenient, aesthetically harmonious, and functional environment. Navigation is represented by an info stand, signs on the main street, and house numbers, made in a restrained style inspired by marine and fishing themes.

The sidewalks are made of polygonal blocks, creating an asymmetric pattern that resembles an uneven shore, emphasizing the natural ease and dynamism of the shoreline.

The concrete wall, hiding the trash can, is organically integrated into the geometry of the sidewalk, repeating its polygonal shapes. This element is not only functional but also becomes part of the overall spatial composition, maintaining the cleanliness and aesthetics of the environment without disrupting visual harmony.
